Answer: the keen sense of style and unrelenting authenticity of production designer Gene Rudolf.

Gene is another example of the hidden jewels of Tucson; the artists and craftsmen of the entertainment industry that now call Tucson home.  Gene has over 20 feature films to his credit, and has worked with heavyweights in the film industry including directors Martin Scorsese, John Boorman, Alan Arkin, Arthur Hiller, John Landis, Walter Hill, Jack Clayton and Sidney Pollack.  You wouldn’t know about his achievements by talking with him.  He’s more concerned with the art and craft of movie making, a passion that has led him to create an 8 day workshop in filmmaking.

The workshop is a tour de force of the craft and artistry that goes into the making of feature films.  His latest workshop happens in Tucson starting on Saturday, October 5.  If you are a filmmaker in Arizona, you should be attending this workshop.  $99 gets you 8 consecutive Saturdays steeped the the Magic of the Moving Image, delivered by a veteran of the film industry.
